Here's a perfect distillation of how the GOP lies, assuages reality, and misleads their base, only to find this tactic continues to contribute to their electoral detriment.

Lie:

Truth:

A Snapshot Can Be Misleading

While a photo of President Obama apparently checking out a young woman in Rome made it's way around the Internet, a video of the same moment proves it was a much more innocent moment.

However, the same cannot be said for French President Nicholas Sarkozy.

Here's the video clip from ABC News:

In the end it's self-detrimental to present yourself as the minority opponent in this way, because, a) They, (The GOP and their ancillaries), always get caught in their poorly formed lie, b) Even the hardest right wing voters want solutions on the issues they care about like jobs, education, and health care, the GOP isn't giving the political consumer what they want nor cogently persuading them that the GOP is in fact philosophically sound, and c) Constantly attacking and defaming Obama, one of the most popular leader in the world, only serves to make the attacker less popular and reaffirms the pereception amongst non-GOP voters, (the other 60% of us) that the GOP is frivolous, unaware of the problems that Americans have to deal with day-to-day, and that the GOP and their communicators are not worth trusting. Obama will be an icon forever especially to minority voters, the same voters the GOP needs to stay relevant. If you attack an issue, you have to propose an alternative that could actually pass the Congress and become law, actionable suggestions instead of character assassination is the only to remain relevant considering the demographic realities of 21st Century America.

The GOP is attacking Obama for things he didn't do while ignoring, Ensign, Coburn, Larry Craig, Mark Sanford, and all the real scandals in their own ranks. Voters hate hypocrisy and they hate to be lied to. So the GOP continues the same strategy using the same tactics, they will find that they receive the same electoral result in non-gerrymandered districts and 50/50% districts, more losses in Congress and less electoral votes. There's no need to attack the GOP, their self-inflicted wounds are saving Progressives a lot of money on advertising. Why the GOP would place an irrational actor like Sarah Palin out front, while somewhat more rational communicators like Romney and even Huckabee are sidelined, is beyond me. The GOP has a severe vacuum in leadership and effective communication. This is what the self-destruction of a Political Party looks like. With only the base of the party remaining, they are more severe and therefor less attractive to persuadable voters.

So GOP and GOP bloggers, keep it up. Keep telling poorly formed lies, keep obfuscating the truth, ignoring the issues, science, and reality in general. Obama needs you to keep being ineffective, he's good, you make him look great.

Thanks for your continued incompetence.
